This is a stunning example of oak aged chardonnay from the Elephant Hill team, and one of our favourite expressions of coastal Hawke's Bay Chardonnay. From the small but perfectly formed 2024 vintage, this release shows all the hallmarks of a great growing season in Hawke's Bay. This wonderful wine was produced predominantly using fruit from their Sea vineyard in Te Awanga, with support from the inland Earth Vineyard in the Bridge Pa Triangle. The result is a gorgeous chardonnay with lovely palate weight, balancing generosity and power (due to partial barrel and malolactic fermentation) with the perfect degree of restraint. Stunning now, but this wine has the ability to blossom with a few years in the cellar. Tuck a 6 pack away and watch the magic unfold. Highly recommended.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "A delicious wine, taut and dry with core flavours of ripe grapefruit and white nectarine, there’s a sea-spray quality then flavours of mineral and stone, red apple and leesy complexities. Palate textures include a fine tannins and medium+ acidity which also frame the core fruit flavours of pomaceous and stone fruits. Well made, youthful and ready to drink from mid to late 2026 through 2033."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Stylish and elegant, the wine shows ripe peach, rockmelon, nougat, and almond meal notes on the nose, followed by a beautifully weighted palate that's succulent and fleshy. Splendidly supported by bright acidity, finishing persistent and refined. At its best: now to 2030."
