Twenty years ago Tohu established the world's first Maori-owned wine business and have been producing award winning wines ever since. With a host of glowing reviews, the Tohu WHENUA Matua Albarino 2019 is no exception. This delightful wine is zesty and dry, with a hint of saline minerality that makes it the ultimate match for fresh fresh and seafood.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas of citrus peel and spice, a saline seaside quality, white fleshed orchard fruits, chalky mineral and a tangerine freshness. Youthful, vibrant and enticing. Crisp, saline, fruity, salivating and just dry on the palate with a core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. Delicious, fresh aperitif or seafood pairing attributes, balanced, well made and ready to drink from 2022 through 2028."
Steve Bennett MW, NZ Wine Rater writes "Striking, lifted, aromatic bouquet with aromas of tropical fruits, watermelon, peach, lemon and mandarin fruit with a hint of zest and spice. A very interesting palate - dry, lean, taut and crisp with little resemblance to Albarino from Spain but a delicious, everyday drinking white wine which tastes more like a dry Muscat."
