Patria Chica is a sensational new Spanish red blend, brought into NZ by legendary importer Steve Bennett MW. Vino de Pago wines are produced in a small, specific area of Spain and are awarded the "Denomination de Pago", the highest classification of Spanish wine and one that only 20 wineries currently hold.

Vinted from an interesting blend of tempranillo, garnacha, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, this is plush, luxurious wine that fills your mouth with dark berry flavours and ripe tannins. Time in French oak has imparted subtle spicy notes which are nicely balanced by fresh acidity. We were blown away when we tried this and stellar reviews from NZ critics have confirmed what we thought - this is excellent wine that will make Spanish red fans very happy campers.

Vinted from tempranillo (60%), garnacha (26%), merlot (12%), cabernet sauvignon (2%).

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Fabulous bouquet of ‘old-world’ earthiness and complexity with aromas of dried berries and preserves, dried clay and stones, barrels complexities and dried herbs. Dry and delicious on the palate with the structure speaking as loud as the fruit and spice contributions. Tannins have a firmness and grainy feel, acidity sits at medium and with the earth, fruit, green coffee bean, cinnamon and dried clay and floral flavours this is a wine to savour on its own or with food."

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "This is totally seductive and sensually appealing; the fragrant bouquet shows dark fruit richness, vanilla, hazelnut and warm spice aromas, followed by a silky-smooth palate that's wonderfully weighted and beautifully flowing. Plush and mouthfilling, finishing impressively long and delicious."
