This certified organic Spanish Rioja is a classic blend of 60% tempranillo, 20% garnacha and 20% graciano that brings together lively, juicy fruit flavours and velvety tannins. This one has the blessing of the MW's that's for sure - it's yet another brilliant wine imported into New Zealand by the gifted Stephen Bennett MW. Bob Campbell MW also singled Azabache out as a "Buy of the Week" in 2023 and made his list of Top 10 Reds. Clearly this is all class.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Seductively complex and enticing, the bouquet shows dried cherry, fine leather, cake spice and toasted nut aromas. The palate offers excellent weight and silky flow, wonderfully supported by fine grainy tannins. Generous yet refined with savoury richness, finishing persistent and robust."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "This is an organic wine made from Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano showcasing aromas and flavours of sweet meats and red flowers, fresh and dried strawberries, wet clay and crushed stones, sweet spices of soil and oak. Dry, taut, a decent tannin and acid squeeze with flavours of dark red berry fruits, spiced plums, bitter chocolate and sandy textures. Moderate oak levels, excellent texture overall, a classic style with best drinking alongside food."
