93/100 | James Suckling
It's no surprise that Sons of Eden are making waves with these exciting new releases. The winery takes it name from winemakers Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham, who both learnt their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley and this is showstopper shiraz from one of the hottest winemaking teams in the Barossa. They absolutely nail the modern Barossa style - bringing refinement and subtle textures into focus without losing the plush, opulent fruit weight that the Barossa has built its reputation on. Fruit is sourced from 20-80 year old vines and that heritage shows through loud and clear.
If you're a fan of premium Barossa Shiraz, this is joy in a glass. We are besotted with it. Get involved.

The winery writes "Deep garnet in colour, with a vibrant aroma of dark cherry and complex wild berry characters. The palate displays intense and juicy dark red berry fruits with balanced velvety tannins. Delicious drinking upon release but will mature very well for the medium to longer term."
James Suckling writes "Fresh and vibrant with luscious aromas of dark cherries, blood plums, dried herbs and blackcurrants. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving generous notes of mulberries, mocha, ferric earth and violets. A wonderful balance of fresh fruit with a savory undertone."
