Fenocchio Langhe Nebbiolo 2023

We loved this one. From 100% Nebbiolo, and produced in Piedmont, you would be forgiven for mistaking this for Barolo. Serious quality and depth of flavour on show here. It's initially very shy upon opening and requires a lengthy decant (1-2 hours at least!) to fully reveal itself. Once it's fully unfurled, it shows a vibrant array of red florals, succulent berries, menthol, tobacco, and earth with granular tannins framing the wine beautifully. Lovely, lovely wine.

Tasting Notes
The winery writes "Aged for six months in stainless steel and six months in large Slavonian oak casks, the result is a ruby-red wine with garnet reflections, offering aromas of plum, cherry, and hints of rose and licorice. On the palate, it is dry, harmonious, and well-structured, with balanced tannins and a long finish."
