Made from hand harvested grapes, the Johanneshof Pinot Noir Maybern Reserve is a partial wild ferment, made with minimal intervention and no additions other than minimal amounts of sulphur. This lovely wine was aged in French barrels for 12 months and bottled with a light filtration to maintain texture.
Cameron Douglas writes "Vibrant ruby red, the Johanneshof Pinot Noir Maybern 2019 seduces with its fragrance and flavours of cherries and red berries with a touch of plum and leather. Earthy undertones with fine tannins and medium acidity lead to a nuanced finish. The soft tannins promise a good potential to age, while its immediate drinkability might not allow for this however. Perfect with hearty dishes complementing mushrooms, meat and game. At it's best: now to 2025"
