Named after winemaker Dave Mackintosh's great grandmother, Annabella Mackenzie, Kenzie Wines is a celebration of contemporary winemaking. After fifteen years crafting acclaimed wines in Victoria’s Yarra Valley under the Arfion and Salo labels, Dave felt the pull of home, returning to Aotearoa to create distinctive, modern wines from the expressive soils of Hawke’s Bay.
A vibrant and expressive red that celebrates the harmony between two classic varieties, Mangatahi brings together 75% Gamay and 25% Pinot Noir in a wine that’s all about freshness, texture and charm. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it’s an honest, characterful expression of Hawke’s Bay fruit and thoughtful winemaking.

The winery writes "Cherries, dark plum with savoury, earthy and spice notes. A lush yet fresh palate with a medium body and a nice lick of tannin. Natural acidity and a light, tea like bitterness adds length and complexity."
