GOLD MEDAL | 70 Millions de Deustateurs
Château Moulin is located in the commune Entre-Deux-Mers in St Antoine du Queyre, just outside of the city of Bordeaux. They grow mostly merlot but have small plantings of cabernet sauvignon. The vineyard site is 30 years old and located on limestone-clay soil, which creates ideal conditions for growing merlot.
The winery is headed by Frederic Petit, who has delivered a very tasty, triple gold medal winning Bordeaux that's loaded with flavour and charm. Stylistically, it's a classic rendition of modern Bordeaux - softly inviting and approachable, but with underlying structure and depth. Finishing rewarding and elegant, this Bordeaux is fully deserving of its gold medal stack. Very good value.
Vinted from a blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot.
The winery writes "Chateau Moulin Boyer has a deep red colour with ruby tints. The nose, intense and very fruity, offers blackcurrant and raspberry notes with a delicate spicy touch. On the palate, the wine reveals a great elegance with silky tannins. The attack, rich, complex and fruity, delivers black fruit aromas and a nice vanilla touch."
