Founded by the Peris family in 1984, Mont Rubi is a producer who marries tradition with innovation. Located in the Penedès region in Northeast Spain famed for producing the sparkling wine Cava, Mont Rubi go against the grain and are dedicated to producing still wines from overlooked indigenous grape varieties. With thirty hectares of high altitude sites, Mont Rubi make wines that are fresh and elegant. This finely-crafted garnacha leaps out of the glass with rich plum and berry aromas, and finishes long and silky. Super moreish, and super classy.
The winery writes "Black is a young and lively wine with an intense purple hue that hints at the delicious fruit to come. The boisterous nose is full of wild berry and Murcian plum accented by a floral note of violets. The wine is silky smooth on the palate, but with a fresh definition that leaves you wanting more. The lingering finish of blackberries continues from one sip to the next."
