What a superstar this remarkable wine is, and the 2023 is sure to continue its all conquering ways in the annual wine show and award rounds. Vinted in the classic Mediterranean dry style, Two Rivers Isle of Beauty Rosé is elegant and fresh with just a hint of lush mid palate weight. In our book, it is a near perfect expression of the modern New Zealand style and is a must try wine for any fan of dry summer rosé. This new release brings an extra touch of saline minerality into play, and that marries perfectly with the understated silken berry fruits that line that magical mid palate. Beautiful wine. Bravo.
The winery writes "Pale salmon pink in colour, this Mediterranean – style Rosé is savoury with aromas of freshly cut watermelon, overlaying nuances of thyme and wild strawberries. The palate is zesty, bursting with crushed red berries, Himalayan salt, and a sherbet touch. This elegant Rosé has a chalky texture, and a salivating, persistent finish."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "It’s fabulously delicate, showing pomegranate, lemon peel and white floral nuances on the nose, followed by a concentrated palate offering excellent fruit purity and poise. Finely textured and linear, the wine delivers elegant fruit flavours with juicy acidity, finishing persistent and mouth-watering."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Seductive scents of white blossoms and roses are laced with ripe red berry fruits scents of cherry then strawberry. Other aromas of wet stone and and a soft savoury quality add depth and expression. On the palate a smooth and silky mouthfeel, dry, crisp and fruity wine with flavours that reflect the bouquet. Balanced and well made , a rather perfect summer tipple."
Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews writes "Bright, even, pale salmon. The nose is elegantly presented with intense aromas of field strawberry, cherry, watermelon and rose. Medium-light bodied, aromas of field strawberry, cherry and watermelon are refreshing, rich rose nuances linger with a touch of peppery spice. The mouthfeel is silky, flushed with crisp acidity and elegantly presented fruit notes. A thirst-quenching finish unfolds subtle pepper dusting and linearity. An excellent Isle Of Beauty Rosé vintage, harmonious and delicate flavours on a smooth flow and refreshing finish."
