Using the terms 'bottle-aged riesling' and 'clearance deal' in the same sentence at Advintage HQ is a surefire way to get our whole team fizzing and the second we tried Tupari Dry Riesling, we knew we were on to an absolute winner.
High quality dry Riesling has the ability to age beautifully and this 2013 release from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough is in the form of its life. Perfectly bottle-aged, it is lush and lively with plenty of mouth-filling, zesty flavours. A gentle kiss of sweetness is balanced beautifully by a line of minerality and fresh acidity, and the classic lanolin flavours of good aged riesling shine throughout the palate.
The best part? We've managed to sneak this one into the quaffer zone. At just $11.99 on case buys, this is outrageously good buying for riesling fans. Enjoy opver the next three years. Get into it.
Sam Kim writes "95 pts. This is wonderfully maturing; the fragrant bouquet shows apricot, lemon curd, subtle spice and toasty characters, leading to a concentrated palate that's juicy and mouth-watering. It's harmonious and flavoursome with excellent vibrancy, offering terrific drinking. Reviewed in Feb 2020"
Decanter World Wine Awards judges comments "Beautiful, smoky, saline nose of lime blossom, mint and peach. Round and full with a stony mineral layer. Youthful and delicious."
