FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Beautifully composed and expressed"
93/100 'Excellent' | Cameron Douglas MS
Rua Pinot Noir has picked up a number of Trophies and Gold Medals over the last few vintages and we're sure the 2023 will add to that haul. Loaded with ripe berries and supple mouthfeel, this is immediately attractive wine; generous and fulsome with great drink now appeal. You will be hard pressed to find a better value Central Otago Pinot under the $30 barrier. Go long.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "There’s no mistaking the signature of the variety and place of origin for the wine, scents of ripe dark cherry flesh, a fine savoury quality and shattered stone earth suggestions. Youthful with a tautness as the wine touches the palate, tannins have a energised grip and acidity adds crunch and freshness. Core flavours reflect the bouquet with layers of lees and red berries, vanilla and baking spices of oak. Plush and fresh with good drinking today, best drinking from late 2025 through 2030+."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "It's splendidly ripe and aromatic on the nose, showing sweet cherry, rich floral, olive and toasted almond notes, leading to a finely flowing palate that's succulent and supple. Beautifully composed and expressed with juicy fruit intensity, offering fabulous drinking. At its best: now to 2030."
