18.5/20 | Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
As the reviews clearly attest, this is special wine - an opulent, exotic gewurz from the aromatic masters at Pegasus Bay. Spicy, tropical notes simply flow from this gorgeous wine, and the promise of the bouquet is perfectly expressed on the palate. Wonderful wine.
Cameron Douglas writes "Best to leave the wine in glass for two minutes before nosing please - swirl several times and then absorb the bouquet. Aromas and flavours of roses and wild flowers, spiced orchard and tropical fruits, honeysuckle and citrus peel. Delicious on the palate with flavours of spices and dried herbs, citrus and tropical fruits, local red apples and honeysuckle. No mistaking the variety and its lush satin texture. Medium acidity with a youthful prickle and very engaging. Best in cellar still till end of 2021 with best drinking from then through 2027+. If drinking before then - decanting is suggested."
Sam Kim writes "Upfront and fabulously perfumed, showing pineapple, lychee, Turkish Delight, dried flower and mixed spice aromas on the nose. It's sumptuous and plush on the palate, exhibiting creamy mouthfeel and mellow acidity, leading to a wonderfully long gratifying finish."
