GOLD MEDAL | IWC 2019
FIVE STARS | Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
95 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
The Pask Declaration series always sets the bar high and this 2016 Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay continues a run of excellent releases. A rich yet elegant chardonnay that displays lemon and stonefruit notes on the palate.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Bold, fruity, aromas of baking spices and nuts, toasty, woody, vanilla and yellow fleshed stone-fruits. Overall sophisticated, attractive and complex. On the palate - full-bodied, intense, woody, fruity and dry. Many attributes to please Chardonnay fans with this example. Medium acidity, balanced, a core of fruit and oak, vanilla and clove, citrus, apple and stone-fruit. Long finish, youthful, well-made. Decant for service. Best drinking from today and through 2024."
The winery writes "A rich and complex Chardonnay showing depth, structure and elegance. Typical characters, complex yeast autolysis notes and French oak. Beautiful Chardonnay with excellent ageing ability."
