An excellent example of modern Hawke's Bay Chardonnay from winemaker Jason Stent and his Paritua team. This is 100% barrel fermented wine with powerful fruit weight influenced by a mix of new and seasoned oak. It is perfectly pitched with fruit power and underlying drive but the focus is on fruit not the oak component. 50% malo ferment adds just the right amount of creamy texture and palate weight. Recommended.
The winery writes "Ripe stone fruit aromas of peach and white fleshed nectarine, with notes of vanilla and a hint of melted butter. The palate also shows fruit flavours of peach and nectarine with clove in a rich textural mid palate. Finishing with nougat and vanilla balanced with fine oak and good acidity with a lingering citrus after taste."
