93/100 | Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Vinted from Central Otago Pinot Noir by one of New Zealand's finest winemaking teams, this is hands down New Zealand's most sought after rosé.
Winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis has nailed the style that has won this Central Otago cult classic its devoted following and this new 2023 vintage bursts with just-off-dry upfront strawberry fruits and finishes with a perfectly balanced lick of fresh acidity that brings your palate back to earth.
Long term fans of this much loved wine will be delighted with this new 2023 vintage. It's fantastic. If you haven't had a Stolen Kiss moment in your life, you really don't know what you're missing.
Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews writes "Bright, even, pale blush pink. The bouquet is vibrant and full, with aromas of field strawberry, cherry, rich floral and delicate spice. Medium-bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of field strawberry and cherry have a taut core, unfolding cherry blossom, candy floss and a touch of pepper. The fresh acidity cuts through the sweet notes and flows effortlessly to a refreshing finish. A classic Stolen Kiss with excellent sweet and sour balance, bursting with fresh fruit and a crisp finish. Serve as an aperitif or match with antipasto over the next 2-3 years."
The winery writes "The sweetly frivolous and fruity side of Central Otago Pinot Noir is bound up in this bottle of Stolen Kiss Rosé; once unleashed into your glass its candy-floss and crème-brûlée aromas shall sashay into a flirtatious toffee-apple and simmering strawberry palate smeared with cherry lip-gloss; most fun to drink chilled on sultry summer afternoons and evenings."
