FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
The vineyards for the Jester Shiraz are located at the southern end of McLaren Vale where the combination of cool sea breezes and heavy clay soils provide ideal growing conditions for the production of intensely flavoured Shiraz. This is a typically full flavoured and elegant shiraz, with dark fruit flavors of plum and blackberry, complemented by dark chocolate, licorice and white pepper spice.
Sam Kim writes "Sweetly fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, mulberry, vanilla, clove and roasted hazelnut aromas. It’s equally attractive on the palate, displaying plump mouthfeel and fleshy texture, offering excellent drinking."
The winery writes "Vibrant and juicy with flavours of black cherry and blood plums upfront, with nuances of clove spice, dark chocolate and salted liquorice in support. It is framed by delicate tannins and a redcurrant like acidity that delivers a satisfyingly long finish."
