Winery Retiring: The End of an Era for this Iconic Winery
As the winery winds down, a unique opportunity exists to purchase the final vintages of some of Millton's iconic wines at exceptional prices.
A note from the winery: “After more than 41 vintages, we have chosen to retire both the Vineyard and ourselves and now look forward to spending more time with our family. After more than four decades of caring for the land, pioneering organics and biodynamics, and crafting wines with integrity, The Millton Vineyard will no longer be producing the quality wines we are renowned for."
Opou has long been regarded as one of New Zealand's finest medium-dry rieslings, and the 2024 is a wonderful rendition of this much-loved wine. As always, it is medium-dry in style, with juicy fruit weight countered by salivating acidity. The 2024 shows a lovely mineral line that adds an extra dimension of freshness. It is beautifully balanced, aromatic and incredibly more-ish. Biodynamic, certified organic and at only 10% ABV, it is a luscious low alcohol option and a stunning buy at this 'retirement price'.
Beautifully presented in lay-flat cellar 6 packs, and with the ability to cellar for another 5-10 years, this delicious single vineyard riesling makes a wonderful addition to any discerning collection.

The winery writes "Hugely mineral and floral. Oysters and citrus blossom combine luxuriantly to give a wine of tightness and explosive sweetness. The colours of a tear drop, a mouth-watering tingle of with succulent fruit, acid and phenolic balance surprise the taste. It’s all about quenching acidity and lime. Full of luminosity, this wine will, in time, develop greater complexity, revealing honeycomb and classic “ferner” characters. A new world classic."
