We loved this wine. Don't be fooled by this crazy price. This excellent 2022 sauvignon will impress anyone who loves premium styled Wairarapa Sauv Blanc. It's a richly weighted style with an ethereal texture and layers of tropical fruits. The acidity is dialed down from the Marlborough model and we applaud Gladstone for veering away from typically fresh and crisp, high acid sauvignon. Seasoned oak has played a part here but it's influence is all in the palate weight and there is no obvious oak component to taste.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Beautifully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows green rockmelon, grapefruit, subtle spice and jasmine aromas, leading to a flavoursome palate that's vibrant and lingering. Upfront and well structured with a lengthy mouth-watering finish."
The winery writes "From a 40-year-old Sauvignon Blanc planting, the oldest in the region this wine shows a deeply aromatic nose of honey suckle, lime and jasmine. On the palate it is silky with a phenolic grip that helps balance the acidity which is long but subtle. Notes of goose berry and white peach. This is a wine to drink now or to cellar."
