Linden Estate have carved out a glowing reputation for their red wines, and the 2020 Pinotage hits the mark once again.

Originating from South Africa, and a less common varietal here in New Zealand, pinotage is a fusion of two particularly expressive varieties - pinot noir and cinsault. Typically dark crimson in colour with earthy, forest floor notes, pinotage combines the elegance reminiscent of cinsault and the complexity of pinot noir.

Linden Estate have captured all the true varietal characteristics of pinotage with this expression. Striking fruit flavours are underpinned by bold tannins. This combined with the near perfect vintage conditions in 2020 makes for absolutely delicious wine. Match with smoked duck, pulled pork or portobello mushrooms to really bring out the gamey savourness of this wine. While this is drinking beautifully now, this has the potential to be cellared for up to 5-10 years. A very worthy investment at this $17.99 case price.
