18/20 POINTS | Joelle Thomson
Many aficionados would say that the aromatic whites of Dry River are the best wines from this iconic Martinborough winery. The Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminers from Dry River can certainly be counted mong this country’s best expressions of these varieties. This complex and zesty riesling is a must-try wine for any fan of finely crafted New Zealand aromatics.
The winery writes "Dry River’s 2022 Riesling captures a cooler season with zesty aromatics, lemon leaves, pink grapefruit, green moss, and wet river stones whilst holding tension with fresh acid, almost salty, and a lighter, fine-boned texture balanced with off-dry sugar. This layered wine promises to develop and open in the glass, with cellaring potential at ten years. "
