This powerful, all conquering release from Church Road has just relished in outstanding award show success. It was recently awarded Trophy for Overall Champion Chardonnay of Show at the 2024 IWC - a Trophy reserved for the best chardonnay at the entire competition. The IWC is one of the world's biggest wine shows, and receiving the Champion Trophy is an absolutely outstanding achievement.

2021 was an exceptional chardonnay vintage in Hawke's Bay, with optimal growing conditions allowing all fruit to be harvested to perfection. This 2021 Grand Reserve Chardonnay reaps all the rewards of an excellent growing season. Only the finest parcels of fruit were selected from their best vineyards in the Tuki Tuki river valley, and the result is a chardonnay showing immense complexity, structure and depth. 

Produced only in the best vintages, Grand Reserve is always exceptional drinking - a full bodied style with stonefruit and toasty characters on the nose that follow through on the palate to a long and lingering finish. Powerful wine, yet remaining elegant in true Church Road style. The previous three vintages of this superb wine have also garnered stellar reviews - winning an impressive eight trophies and twelve gold medals. An A-Lister wine.
