If you’ve never tried Nero d'Avola before, think of it like a glass of gutsy Aussie Shiraz with something to prove. It's a bold, robust wine; flavour packed but supple and rounded in the mouth. The tannins are silky and soft and a lick of fresh acidity cleans up the palate admirably. Lovely wine to enjoy by itself or with a gutsy Mediterranean meal.
