4.5 STARS | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Soft approachable style, stonefruits as you expect from Hawkes Bay with more elegance and outright "user friendliness" than most. A generous round Chardonnay with soft acidity and attractive juicy fruit - get amongst!
Sam Kim writes "Elegant and restrained, showing crunchy apple, nectarine, lemon peel and a hint of oatmeal notes on the nose, followed by a finely expressed palate that's juicy and lingering. Brightly expressed and linear with pristine fruit flavours and crisp acidity."
The winery writes "Typically fresh aromatics of quality Hawkes Bay Chardonnay are evident including citrus, white flowers and stone fruit. These are complemented on the palate by a creamy richness from aging on lees. Roast hazelnut, almond and hints of gunflint result from the indigenous fermentation in barrel. It displays delicacy but richness and is a fantastic match with many dishes. Think rich seafood or creamy roast chicken."
