94/100 | Vino Notebook
100% grenache showing delicate aromas of red cherries and berry fruits with subtle hints of savoury herbs and spices. The fruit has been primarily sourced from old bush vines planted in the 1940's, and for a vintage that was particularly challenging, this a lovely expression of generous and concentrated grenache. A must try for any grenache connoiseurs.

The winery writes "Handcrafted from our old vine Grenache block, Vine Vale Grenache is all about the subtlety of whole bunch fermentation. A wine with alluring fragrance, it is complex, savoury and fruit driven. Generous and bright through the palate with a crunch of acidity surrounding the juicy middle palate that Grenache aficionados will love."
Dave Brooks, Halliday Wine Companion writes "Whole-bunch grenache from Vine Vale, aged for 8 months in old French oak hogsheads. A wonderful, bunchy grenache that ticks all the boxes...very comfortable in its own skin. Balanced tannins and on-point acidity provide structure and cadence. Effortless drinking."
Vino Notebook writes "Seamless and intense. Silken tannins with juicy, yet dark fruit. Spiced and lifted with plushness, mocha hint and a savoury base. Beautifully clean and well tailored with a long finish."
