THE BEST YET FROM THIS EXCITING PRODUCER:
FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "The palate delivers excellent focus and fine texture backed by juicy fruit intensity and lively acidity, finishing lingering and delightfully delicious."
FIVE STARS | Yvonne Lorkin "Precision winemaking at its best here."
Another exciting Indian Summer release from Waiana Estate - New Zealand’s leading specialist Rosé producer.
This Provencal-esque blend has a smash success with The Advintage Faithful in 2018 and the new 2019 release just scored a huge 94 Points from Sam Kim. The house style that has won Indian Summer so many fans has been tweaked and this new vintage has a touch more palate weight and glycerol mouthfeel than the 2018. It remains delightfully crisp and dry with a lovely pale salmon colour, zingy berry / citrus fruits and refreshing minerality. It's wonderful anytime drinking and the 2019 vintage is sure to go down as one of our most popular summer wines.
Indian Summer, the primary rosé blend of Waiana Estate, is a dry, ultra-pale, Provençal -style blend with a refreshing minerality infused in its onion skin colour. Predominately merlot based the 2019 has some viognier and pinot gris in the mix adding tropical hints and a glycerol mouthfeel into the wine. This wine has been allowed time to rest on its lees until early October to achieve the complexity the winemaking team were looking for in the blend.
Sam Kim writes "Bright, pristine and fabulously expressed, the bouquet shows raspberry, watermelon, lemon peel and white floral aromas. The palate delivers excellent focus and fine texture backed by juicy fruit intensity and lively acidity, finishing lingering and delightfully delicious."
