Village Vineyards are the new hot players on the Havelock wine scene. Dai & Jenny Evans started out as orchardists, producing world class fruit that filled Kiwi luncboxes and market shelves for years until the family decided to move into grapegrowing. After years in France honing his skills, son Rhys has taken the helm as winemaker and champions the 'soft hand' approach to winemaking, crafting exquisite low intervention wines. 

Arataki Block '21 is a blend of merlot (80%), syrah (15%) and petit verdot (5%). Spice-laced, rich and beautifully fulsome, it delivers generous palate weight with a silky, satisfying finish. Super approachable and will pair well with a wide variety of foods. Arataki Road holds a lot of history for Village Vineyards, and this block sits just nearby beneath Te Mata Peak’s sleeping giant. The label artwork by Lisa Nicole  features the actual vineyard view - a nice nod to where it all began. A lovely drop.
