Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from the iconic Wairau Valley sub-region. The palate is flooded with those characteristic tropical fruit flavours and they are balanced beautifully by zesty acidity on the finish. An excellent reserve-level wine from Villa.
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Fruity and layered, varietal and herbaceous, complex and spicy, salty and mineral. Aromas and flavours of fresh sage and tropical fruits, red apple, sweet lemon and fresh golden kiwifruit. Dry, crisp, salivating and complex with flavours that reflect the bouquet, a core of fruit contrasted by acidity then mineral flavours of wet stones and sea air. Balanced, well made, lengthy and ready. Step it up a notch and explore a fine example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc."
The winery writes "The wine displays powerful aromas of blackcurrant, boxwood and grapefruit. The palate has an enticing array of ripe tropical fruits mixed with dried herbs such as rosemary, finishing with fresh zesty acidity."
Bob Campbell MW writes "Stylish sauvignon with blackcurrant leaf, apple and nectarine flavours. A punchy, refreshing wine with a backbone of mouth-watering acidity."
Sam Kim writes "Gorgeously detailed and precise, showing passionfruit, kaffir lime, jalapeno and sweet basil aromas on the nose, followed by an impressively concentrated palate delivering excellent fruit purity and vibrancy. Delicious and stylish at the same time."
NZ Wine Rater writes "Pure, classic, Marlborough pungency on the nose with lifted, tropical notes of passion fruit, nectarine, nettles, and Jasmine. The palate is full, fleshy, textural, very tangy and intense. Something of a show stopper."
