18+/20 Raymond Chan | Wine Reviews writes "Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is concentrated with bright and vibrant dark raspberry, blackberry and earthy aromas, lifted by dark red florals and detailed with herb, smoke and minerally elements. A little sweet and savoury oak emerges with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is softly rich with a restrained plushness, showing flavours of dark raspberries, blackberries and earth. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained tannin extraction and structure, the dryness balancing the fruit succulence. The acidity is soft, and the palate has some underlying alcoholic power carrying the wine to a long, fine, powdery-textured finish with raspberry and earthy nuances. This is a rich and juicy, red and black-fruited Tempranillo with fine-grained, mouthfilling, powdery tannin structure. Serve with lamb, beef and venison, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 5-6 years. Tempranillo fruit from the Gimblett Gravels, hand-picked and destemmed, and fermented with whole berries to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in tank, and French and American oak barriques."
