The nose is concentrated with bright and vibrant dark raspberry, blackberry and earthy aromas, lifted by dark red florals and detailed with herb, smoke and minerally elements. A little sweet and savoury oak emerges with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is softly rich with a restrained plushness, showing flavours of dark raspberries, blackberries and earth. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained tannin extraction and structure, the dryness balancing the fruit succulence. The acidity is soft, and the palate has some underlying alcoholic power carrying the wine to a long, fine, powdery-textured finish with raspberry and earthy nuances. This is a rich and juicy, red and black-fruited Tempranillo with fine-grained, mouthfilling, powdery tannin structure. Serve with lamb, beef and venison, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 5-6 years. Tempranillo fruit from the Gimblett Gravels, hand-picked and destemmed, and fermented with whole berries to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in tank, and French and American oak barriques."
