FIVE STARS 18.5/20 Raymond Chan | Wine Reviews.
The Gimblett Gravels winegrowing region in Hawkes Bay has become synonymous with Syrah production. And with good reason, this example is an absolute belter.
Raymond Chan writes "18.5/20. Medium-bodied, the palate has elegantly concentrated flavours of ripe blackberry and dark raspberries with a layering of pepper, lifted florals, dark herbs and spices. The fruit is supported by fine tannin extraction, lending powdery textures and grip The acidity is integrated and the mouthfeel is sweet and mouthfilling. The wine carries to a soft, lingering finish of dark-red fruits, pepper and spice. This is an elegantly concentrated Syrah with mouthfilling flavours of black and red fruits, pepper, florals and herbs on a fine-textured palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison, and Middle Eastern fare over the next 4-5 years. "
