FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Gorgeously ripe and fragrant"
92 POINTS | Halliday Wine Competition
Thorn Clarke are well-known for producing high-quality Barossa wines and their Shotfire Shiraz has a long history of awards and trophies so we jumped at the opportunity to get this little beauty in. Aged in French & American Oak for 14-16 months, this wine is rich, ripe and loaded with flavours in the dark berry spectrum. Absolutely delicious.
Sam Kim writes "Gorgeously ripe and fragrant, the wine shows black and purple fruit richness on the nose with nuances of violet, mixed spice and cedar. It’s concentrated and tremendously weighted on the palate, offering succulent fruit intensity combined with plush texture and silky tannins, finishing wonderfully long and delectable."
The winery writes "The Shotfire Shiraz is sourced from the older Thorn-Clarke owned plantings in the Barossa. A rich, ripe, yet well balanced style is the aim - the resulting wine spends 14-16 months in a combination of French and American oak. Able to be enjoyed upon release, or cellared for up to 10 years this wine offers Barossa Shiraz that has made the region world famous."
