FIVE STAR 18.5/20 | Candice Chow for Raymond Chan
FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Opulent, richly weighted sweet wine that fills your mouth with the concentrated spicy flavours of Gewurztraminer. A showstopper.
One-off is the vehicle for celebrated winemaker Rod McDonald to make small parcels of interesting high quality wines. It's been a resounding success and has developed a fanatical fan base. The only catch is that every release is a One Off. When it's gone, it's gone. There'll never be another.
Candice Chow for Raymond Chan writes "Bright, light golden-yellow, even throughout. The nose is lusciously elegant with aromas of lychee, white peach, kumquat, melded with white blossom, rose water, honey and ginger. Medium-bodied, lush and bright flavours of lychee, white peach and kumquat, white blossom, rose water enriched by honey and subtle ginger. The fruit is clean and fresh, showing varietal characters of lychee, rose water and ginger. The mouthfeel is opulent and fresh, honeyed texture, smooth-flowing with balanced acidity, which is just right and vibrant, leaves a moreish finish without being cloying."
The winery writes "Golden with aromas of exotic ginger and apricot, backed by a long-lingering palate of peach, loquat and honey. Star quality."
