Bringing together spicy sangiovese (the grape of Chianti) with the power and drive of cabernet sauvignon, this exciting wine is a thoroughly modern style with silky smooth palate weight, underlying spiced plum and tobacco notes and mouthfilling richness. It's fantastic; a warm and inviting wine that is sure to have everyone at the table jostling for a second glass. The only downside is that it's a one off and won't be repeated. The 2018 Silky Smooth is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The winery writes "Drink by the fireside or gently chilled on a hot summer’s day. Organic perfumed yet earthy, flowers and tobacco, powerful and so silky smooth … a border skirmish in a bottle"
Sam Kim writes "Youthfully charming and fragrant, the wine shows dark plum, spiced cherry, thyme, olive and toasted almond characters. It is succulent and finely textured on the palate with lovely fruit purity together with refreshing acidity and chalky tannins, making this delightful blend a fabulous food partner."
