FIVE STARS 92/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90 POINTS | Gary Walsh, Wine Front
As the old wine trade saying goes "Grenache delivers what Pinot Noir promises" and fans of weighty New Zealand Pinot will find a lot to like here. Plump and fleshy, this is such an enjoyable style; loaded with sweet dark cherry fruits and supple mouthfeel. It's such a winner and another complete over achiever from the proven Take It To The Grave range.
Sam Kim writes "It's attractively fruited and fragrant, showing mulberry, sweet plum, violet, toasted spice and almond characters. The palate offering lovely weight and fruit intensity, elegantly framed by fine-grained tannins, leading to a lengthy supple finish."
Gary Walsh writes "It's a good wine, and good value with it. Raspberry, spice, a floral and dried herb perfume, dried beef. Fruity, but shows some restraint, powdery tannin, moderate acidity, flash and flavour on a moderate finish, slightly briny in the aftertaste. Rock solid SA red"
