FIVE STARS 18.5/20 | Raymond Chan
4.5 STARS 90 POINTS | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Very friendly and flavoursome."
Starborough must now be considered one of our finest Pinot Gris producers and this is a sublime, off dry expression that delivers a textbook example of this enticing varietal. Every year this release seems to get better and better and the 2017 is in banging form with layer after layer of tangy pear and ripe citrus flavours. Very highly recommended.
Sam Kim writes "An immediately appealing pinot gris, the bouquet shows backed apple, pear, citrus and spice aromas, leading to a beautifully supple palate that is juicy and silky. The wine delivers youthful fruit flavours and vibrant acidity, finishing long and smooth. Very friendly and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2020."
Lovely off dry Pinot Gris. Better than the previous vintage in my opinion.
