Sons of Eden Marschall Barossa Shiraz 2017

94/100 Gary Walsh | THE WINE FRONT "Bang on!"
95/100 Sam Kim | Wine Orbit "Offers terrific fruit richness and intensity."
GOLD MEDAL: Winewise Small Vigneron Awards
18.5/20 | Joelle Thomson, Drinksbiz

It's no surprise that Sons of Eden are making waves with these exciting new releases. The winery takes it name from winemakers Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham, who both learnt their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley and this is showstopper Shiraz from one of the hottest winemaking teams in the Barossa. They absolutely nail the modern Barossa style - bringing refinement and subtle textures into focus without losing the plush, opulent fruit weight that the Barossa has built its reputation on. Fruit is sourced from 20-80 year old vines and that heritage shows through loud and clear.

Gary Walsh of The Wine Front writtes "This is textbook Barossa Shiraz, and you could pay a lot more, for a lot less, or perhaps for a lot more that’s not really necessary. Blackberry, meat, liquorice, spice and a bit of smoky toasty oak. It’s full bodied, but well behaved, with depth and richness, lashings of supple tannin, even acidity, and a thick savoury finish of excellent length. Bang on."

Sam Kim | WINE ORBIT writes " 95/100 From the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts, this delectable shiraz displays dark plum, blueberry, violet and warm spice aromas on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is beautifully weighted and smooth. The wine offers terrific fruit richness and intensity, while remaining perfectly balanced and structured by fine tannins. At its best: 2018 to 2028"
