GOLD MEDAL: Winewise Small Vigneron Awards
It's no surprise that Sons of Eden are making waves with these exciting new releases. The winery takes it name from winemakers Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham, who both learnt their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley and this is showstopper Shiraz from one of the hottest winemaking teams in the Barossa. They absolutely nail the modern Barossa style - bringing refinement and subtle textures into focus without losing the plush, opulent fruit weight that the Barossa has built its reputation on. Fruit is sourced from 20-80 year old vines and that heritage shows through loud and clear.
Gary Walsh of The Wine Front writtes "This is textbook Barossa Shiraz, and you could pay a lot more, for a lot less, or perhaps for a lot more that’s not really necessary. Blackberry, meat, liquorice, spice and a bit of smoky toasty oak. It’s full bodied, but well behaved, with depth and richness, lashings of supple tannin, even acidity, and a thick savoury finish of excellent length. Bang on."
If you're a fan of premium Barossa Shiraz, this is joy in a glass. We are besotted with it. Get involved.
