Superb red blend from the award-winning Saint Clair team. This well-priced Gimblett Gravels blend scooped a trophy at the NZ wine of the year awards and is an excellent offering from this sacred piece of land.
The winery writes "Fresh blueberries and wild blackberries, with fresh roasted coffee bean. A dense full bodied palate with toasty oak on the finish. Perfect for drinking immediately this wine will continue to develop and delight for at least 5 years from vintage but with careful cellaring will continue to develop and please."
Cuisine Magazine writes "Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec beautifully blended to create lifted aromas of blackberry leaf and redcurrant jam. A wonderfully fresh and lively wine with both chocolate and coffee flavours conversely complemented by savoury layers weaving through the palate with spicy, supple tannins and a long lingering finish."
