This is world class Cabernet dominant red in every sense of that statement and, by global fine wine standards, it is given away at this domestic price. One day this flagship wine will be many times these current prices as wine aficionados around the world come to grips with what we already know. Hawkes Bay is on the leading edge of global red wine production. No one, and we mean no one, is doing it better.
The 19.5/20 score by Raymond Chan is telling and the Sacred Hill generosity hallmark is firmly on show. This is a magnificent result from the wonderful 2015 vintage, with layer after layer of complexity revealed with each taste. A veritable tour de force. Bravo.

Raymond Chan writes "Medium-full bodied, the palate has very concentrated and tightly bound, rich and sweet flavours of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries, cassis and liquorice. The fruit has great drive and linearity, and is supported by considerable structure, the tannins very fine-grained and flowery. The acidity lends balance and energy, and the wine carries with great drive and underlying power to a very long and sustained, nuanced finish. The is a wonderfully concentrated and rich Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend with considerable structure, linearity and energy. Match with roasted lamb, beef and venison, or serve with hard cheeses over the next 10-15 years. "
