FIVE STARS 95 POINTS | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Splendidly composed and harmonious, offering terrific drinking."
Rockburn are synonymous with quality, elegance and consistency and the 2017 Pinot Noir knocks it out of the park. A “hands-off” approach delivers a pure expression of Central Otago to your glass; an expressive nose and deeply fruited palate displaying vibrant notes of red and black cherry, rich mocha and supple, silky tannins leading into a very long finish. As always this wine shows classic Rockburn elegance, integrity and balance.
Vegetarian and Vegan friendly.
Sam Kim writes "Wonderfully fruited and perfumed, the gorgeously expressed bouquet shows dark cherry, raspberry, game, thyme and roasted almond characters with nuances of mushroom and spice. The palate is concentrated and beautifully weighted, displaying elegance as well as richness, backed by seamlessly woven fine tannins. Splendidly composed and harmonious, offering terrific drinking."
Bob Campbell writes "The 2017 Rockburn Pinot Noir maintains the high standard achieved over many vintages with this label, although it no doubt benefited from excellent ripening condition in 2017. A richly textural pinot noir with ripe plum, dark cherry, coffee, liquorice and sweet oak flavours. A generously-proportioned wine with layers of subtle flavours leading to a lengthy finish."
This has to be my QUALITY Central Pinot Noir pick vintage after vintage.
