As a premium, boutique producer, Q's sales strategy has always been to focus on the top tier of our nation's white table cloth restaurants and this elite wine has long been a wine list staple in many of New Zealand's most revered dining rooms. With the nationwide lockdown playing havoc with this strategy, we've been lucky enough to pick up a parcel of extra stock and have worked our magic to sneak it under the $20 barrier. If you're a fan of premium South Island Pinot Gris, it's time for you to smell the coffee.
This is luscious single vineyard wine from the Waitaki Valley in North Otago; an off-dry, refreshing and textural expression. Expect layers of elegant pear and quince characters underpinned by beautifully fresh acidity. It's a style that works wonderfully as an aperitif, but is magical with food as its fine dining reputation suggests.
The previous vintage of this premium wine was a smash hit with our pinot gris fans and the reorder rate was through the roof. Don't miss your chance to get your hands on this very special deal.
Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews writes "This is a dry 2020 Pinot Gris with aromas of pear and stonefruit, along with subtleties of white blossoms, five-spice and minerals and an excellent acid drive.
The winery writes "Nice bright yellow, with green reflects in colour. Intense pear and white flowers on the nose, with a hint of ginger. The mouth is full bodied and long balanced, with a refreshing acidity revealing the clean aromas of summer stone fruits."
