Poggio Anima unashamedly call themselves the kings of the 'week night wine' and creating wines for 'drinking not thinking" has been the key to their success. This 2016 release is lovely expression of Nero d'Avola that showcases the dark fruits of this popular varietal. This is a plush style with a juicy array of ripe fruits. Very approachable and easy to enjoy.
Sam Kim writes "It is sweetly fragrant on the nose showing dark plum, spiced cherry, dried herb and cocoa characters. The palate is succulent and brightly expressed with juicy fruit intensity and fine texture, leading to a pleasingly dry finish. A versatile food-friendly wine offering medium-full-body and vibrant fruit flavours. At its best: now to 2020."
