IMPORTER CLEARANCE | juicy French Syrah must go!
4.5 STARS 90/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
The distributor's warehouse is bursting at the seams, and when we got the chance to clear this generously framed syrah, we jumped at the opportunity.
This rounded, plush Pays d'Oc Syrah is another glowing example of the sheer value that the wine producers of the South of France offer these days. Brought into New Zealand by gifted importer Steve Bennett MW, this is friendly wine, that is loaded with dark fruits and subtle spice / pepper elements on the finish. It's a perfect syrah to enjoy with a deli-platter or casual meal, but as the label suggests, match it with roasted duck or coq au vin, and you'll be a very happy camper.
Sam Kim writes "It’s pristine and elegantly fragrant on the nose showing sweet cherry, strawberry, floral and mixed spice aromas, followed by a juicy palate that’s supple and friendly. Charming and smooth with bright fruit flavours."
