EXCLUSIVE LIBRARY STOCK CLEARANCE
4.5 STARS 90/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Pask is one of the longest-running and most trusted wineries in Hawke's Bay, with a long history of creating award-winning wines. We're stoked to have picked up an exclusive parcel of their library stock. These wines were made by celebrated winemaker, Kate Radburnd, and are in excellent form with a few years bottle age on them. They've been held in wine storage since production and are sourced directly from the winery. Stock is limited and it is strictly first in, first served.
The Pask range is vinted from quality fruit from their Gimblett Gravels vineyard and the wines carry plenty of palate weight and flavour. This 2016 syrah is loaded with dark berry notes and subtle herbal characters on the palate. Excellent buying for fans of Hawke's Bay Syrah.
Sam Kim writes "Beautifully poised and elegantly weighted, this attractively expressed syrah shows dark plum, cranberry, floral and spice characters on the nose, followed by a succulent palate that is rounded and silky. The wine offers bright fruit intensity and plenty of tasty flavours, and finishes long and smooth."
Cuisine Magazine writes "Pask demonstrated a commitment to the Gimblett Gravels over 30 years ago as the first winery to plant vines in the district. That spirit remains through wines like this energetic expression. Dark fruit, laced with herbal notes, is carried by keen acidity. It’s a poised, lighter style which would work well with duck pappardelle."
