FIVE STARS, TOP VALUE | Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review
FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Pristine and flavoursome with a lengthy silky finish"
Soft and approachable Hawke's Bay Syrah from the trusted hands of Jason Stent and his Paritua team. This is medium bodied wine with layers of spiced plum and cherry flavours. 2020 was an excellent red wine vintage in the bay and this delicious syrah is already soft and quite rounded in the mouth- making it very enjoyable in its youth. An excellent follow up to the highly awarded 2019 vintage and another great buy from the excellent Stone Paddock range.
Sam Kim writes "Offering excellent fruit ripeness and perfume, the wine shows dark plum, sweet cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas on the nose, followed by a beautifully rounded palate displaying fleshy texture and fine-grained tannins. Pristine and flavoursome with a lengthy silky finish. At its best: now to 2030."
The winery writes "An aroma of ripe blueberry blackberry and violets, savoury notes of cured meat, exotic spice and clove and dried herbs de Provence. The palate is elegant and plush with fruit flavours of fresh red plum and blackberry, five spice and white pepper round off the finish."
