Based in Marlborough, Otu (Otuwhero Estate) create bold, intense wines that capture the essence of their growing region, thoroughly over-deliver on their price points and get sensational reviews from NZ critics.
Their 2021 Sauvignon Blanc is a study in vibrant, fresh Marlborough Sauv - there's nothing subtle about it and we love it for that. The palate explodes with crisp tropical fruit flavours and with herbaceous notes in support and the finish is lengthy and aromatic. This is sure to be a hit with Sauvignon Blanc fans. Climb in.
Sam Kim writes "Powerful and gorgeously fragrant with green rockmelon, lime peel and kiwifruit characters, it's concentrated and persistent on the palate delivering terrific fruit purity and intensity. Upfront and delicious with a lengthy refreshing finish."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Classic bouquet with aromas and scents of lemongrass and fresh green herbs, some tropical fruits, a whisper of salty air and fresh white blossoms. Crisp, crunchy, fruity and herbaceous on the palate with flavours that mirror the bouquet. Crisp, refreshing and just-dry with great drinking from today and through end of summer 2023."
