Their 2021 Hawke's Bay Chardonnay is bright and delicious with classic stone fruit notes and subtle oak spice characters. A lovely creaminess is well balanced by citrus flavours and the finish is long and lingering. An excellent glass of wine from this safe set of hands.
Sam Kim writes "Delightfully fruited and elegantly expressed, the wine shows apricot, orange peel, nougat and cashew notes on the nose, followed by a beautifully rounded palate offering creamy texture and soothing mouthfeel. Well balanced by bright acidity, finishing long and silky."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas of white peach and lemon, some apricot stone and apple. Scents of vanilla and mild French oak wood suggestions. On the palate - flavours reflect the bouquet in a medium+ weighted youthful expression, bright and fruity with a fresh acid line, superfine wood tannin and moderately complex finish."
The winery writes "A classic Chardonnay nose of freshly sliced peach and cream. Rich and elegant, the palate delivers on the promise of the nose, with an abundance of crisp peach flavours. Beautifully balanced, the creaminess sits in harmony with lemon hints. The wine shows quince notes and finishes with a hint of cedar and spice."
