This is a typically refined effort from Neudorf - the Moutere producer with one of finest Chardonnay reputations in the game. the 2017 is medium weight wine, with layers of vibrant stonefruit and citrus on the palate that are underpinned by a lovely mineral note. This is very classy wine given the price point that it operates in. Limited stocks.
Raymond Chan writes ""The ‘Rosie’s Block’ Chardonnay has a wonderful pedigree, and I have found the quality to be up with some of the country’s premium bottlings, even though it sits second to the Neudorf ‘Moutere’ Chardonnay. The fruit richness and depth is balanced by fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine forms a fine core with drive and linearity. The wine carries to a long finish with flint and mineral detail. This is an elegantly concentrated, complex layered and detailed Chardonnay with subtly rich fruit on a fresh palate."
Bob Campbell MW writes "“Light, fresh, delicate chardonnay with subtle nutty lees, oyster shell and bran biscuit flavours. Appealing purity. Quite a charming wine from a challenging vintage. When the going gets tough."
