This Central Otago Gamay is the summer red you didn't know you needed. The guys at Mount Edward have done an excellent job at creating a wine that's bursting with ripe berries and ready to drink now, with the perfect tickle of acidity to top it all off.
As with all of the Mount Edward wines, this is organic and bio-grow certified.
The winery writes "Our fourth Gamay, a variety that is the way forward when you want something uncomplicated, refreshing, delicious and red. In our world this wine has what you call drinkability, for everyone else it’s called I like to drink this – regardless this is the summer red for sure. Gamay is the hallmark variety of Beaujolais, at its best making beautiful vibrant wine, generally red fruits with super acidity, the ability to age but in reality is often best young.
