We've been saying it for years - 'Mount D' is a cult producer that truly deserves it's exalted status. Roaring Meg is their entry level range and the 2018 vintage Pinot Noir offers exceptional value. It's soft and rounded on the palate with classic regional flavours of savoury cherry, sweet oak and thyme. Great buying from a true Central Otago kingpin.
The winery writes "This wine highlights the warm season with lovely perfumed blackberry and dark Stella cherry fruits along with a hint of spice, adding complexity. The wine has a sweet berry entry which displays these same characters in abundance. Lovely ripe textural tannins rise gracefully out of the mid-palate to finish the wine. These are balanced by the wine's acidity and fruit, to produce a long fruit-driven finish."
